so i wus bored and decided to do a digital piece. its inspired by Japanese woodblocks but done in my fun/cartoony style

Watercolor Madness!!!

So here are sum watercolor pieces I've done recently(except for the Hare & the Lion; done last semester). I'm really getting back into painting, especially since I was unable to use my computer for the past month forcing me to do traditional work, and I'm proud of these little pieces of experimentation. For sum reason I'm not as in control in digital work as I am using traditional media but my goal for the end of the summer is to sumhow mesh my two styles of work together. [kinda like how i mesh my silly text language with proper english lol]. My favorite of these is the most recent one, "Summertime" with the guy cooking on the grill, girl with a tray of deviled eggs, and a hungry boy floating in the pool as he awaits his time to get his grub on.This last piece was just a piece i did for fun as usual.

Like her not, Ms. Nicki Minaj is the 'it' girl of the hiphop scene rite now (and currently my obsession lol), so to pay homage (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMosOso8iPk) I did a quirky little piece inspired by her sneaky, sassy style. Eat your heart Kimberly Jones.

Character Designs

Just a few character designs I was messing with. They're from a comic i did when i was like 10 lol but I decided to reinvent what I had done before. Maybe I'll go back into it and make a full-length comic, who knows...The story was about these kids that gain supernatural powers by accident and decided to use their powers to fight evil! lol i know sounds just like every other 'kickbutt' adventure available to kids, so now that I'm a lil older and wiser I can try and come up with something more interesting than that lol

Trying New Things

Trying new things has always been a fear of mine, I like the familiar and am very comfortable in my little box, however staying your box only does a person more harm than good. With that being said I plan on taking more risk and being more experimental with art(and life lol). heres a recent piece i did of Roc Nation's J. Cole, youtube him, he's great.

So my new goal is to update this blog once a week whether it be with simple sketches or finished pieces, just to keep anyone looking me up in the loop. My promo flyers are almost done and soon I'll load up my comic stuff. Here's some work from Children's book class.
I also been doing patterns in class, so I chose to do the Greek Gods, heres a sketch. Lately, I turned 21 this week so that means two things, one partying, two all nighters for next week's work.
